Rukum entrepreneurs flay parties

RUKUM, AUG 16 - Businessmen of Rukum have accused political parties of forming consumer committees illegally and interfering in development works.
Organising a programme here on Monday, Rukum Chambers of Commerce and Industry as well as Construction Entrepreneurs' Association said consumers’ committees formed by the UCPN (Maoist), the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML have been monitoring, evaluating, and implementing plans on their own and releasing money before work completion.
They maintained that the parties are trying to release the entire budget of Khara-Solabang road gravelling project without completing the work.
Speaking at the function, President of Construction Entrepreneurs' Committee Kedar Sharma stated that businessmen would resort to protests if parties continue to trample the rights of consumers.
Parties are allegedly executing some development works by bypassing local consumers’ committees after forming separate consumer committees with their cadres’ direct involvement.
